this is an email i just wrote to my friend, but it can be to you too:

its a big one, a years and years project. we've been talking about doing a farm/education/camp thing. like farming, and having education retreats on all sorts of stuff, and then scholarships for low income, troubled children to spend the summer there (there are things like this going on over there on the east coast...i think there's a quaker one that looks a lot like something we want to do). we're thinking all ages though. i know i'm not really coherent in this note, but that's because i don't really know where it's going, it's in the conception stages... it can be anything we want it to be. maybe it sounds far fetched, but its been crazy all the things that have happened that affirm our dreams. john is living in oregon and has had so many people encouraging and comnig together to help. so we've been telling people about it, maybe more people dreaming will help the idea gain momentum and strength, but also there's networking and all that. right now i'm working on getting an internship at an anarchist catholic worker farm for the summer and john's taking classes on grant writing and all that. he's also got a friend who got his degree to do exactly this thing, so he's been helping out too.

i've been feeling such a call to go back to the land. i've almost got my a.a.s. in child dev, and the thought of staying in the city and teaching fills me with dread, i want to be outside in clean air and do hard labor, i was riding my bike the other day and licked my lips and it tasted bitter. and i want the children i work with (i'm doing an art night with homeless children once a week) to appreciate nature, to love Her and to have some carefree days.

so if you want to help, i'd love it. we don't know where we're going to be, if you hear about land, opportunities, or anything you think is pertinent if you could let us know that'd be cool. or just send some prayers up about it all.
